Tiny Rooftop House

This beautiful coastal beach house gives you major cape-cod vibes with its wooden shingled exterior to the clean white french doors.  You could imagine yourself leaving the windows open to enjoy some fresh salty sea breeze air, but you might be a bit surprised when the view out your window is not the ocean, but instead a bustling Manhattan.  Searching for a space of solitude and space to relax and get away from it all?  Look no further than this quaint tiny house five stories above the streets of Manhattan, New York.

This adorable coastal cottage rests on top of a building in the East Village and is actually a part of a penthouse unit which takes up the top two floors within the building.  It is a full floor duplex that has 2,736 square feet of interior space and boasts of twenty-two windows and two wood burning fire places.  Even more unbelievable, this whole building was for sale for a whooping $3,750,000!  Sadly, it has sense been sold and taken off market.

Of course, besides the two stories within the building the $3.75 million dollar purchase also came with the charming tiny rooftop cottage.  This was a custom designed Nantucket style cottage with a wraparound terrace.  The tiny house boasts of its own full bathroom and kitchenette which can easily be an artist’s studio, private getaway or rental unit.  The double french doors opens up to a private rooftop terrace that offers a lovely retreat from the outside world and a private oasis.  Who knew tiny houses could be so versatile?
